Swanage Events
Swanage has an impressive list of annual events. We have selected those that run every year for you to pick. A complete listing can be found here.
Swanage Carnival
Reputed to be the largest carnival on the South Coast. The carnival is a week long extravaganza of fun. A huge list of events will culminate in the carnival day itself, which lasts at least three hours. The carnival parade will include sports cars, motorbikes, community floats, dancers, music and curios.
The carnival starts in the last days of July and runs from Saturday to Saturday. Events keep getting added this year but will include runs, sea swims, rowing, arts, music, quiz nights and so much more. Fire works normally take place each Saturday and mid week.
Swanages Blues Festival
Swanage Blue Festival is generally held on on the first weekends in both March and October. Its a fun-filled weekend of jams and open mic sessions with over 50 musicians to enjoy.
Swanages Pirate Festival
A newer addition to the calender, the pirate festival is a real treasure chest of colour and fun. A pirate ship will visit the Victorian Pier and pirates roam freely throughout the town.
Held over the last weekend in May, the skirmishes commence with living history displays including canon firing, sword fights and arena battles. The sandpit field is transformed into an swashbuckling adventure with displays, stall, food and drink. Best of all its free to attend.
Swanage Fish Festival
A June event not to be missed for all those seafood lovers. The Prince Albert Gardens are transformed for this free event. Come and sample locally caught seafood and see local chefs live cooking demo shows.
